Y Trends for Young Fashion Footwear and Sneakers

Welcome to the interactive trend information

"We don’t believe in trend dictates but in shared views," says Nicoline van Enter. The owner of Dutch trend agency Y Trends from Amsterdam specialises in young fashion footwear and sneakers acting as a consultant for leading international footwear brands. At GDS she will open up new avenues with her interactive trend information concept in the form of a Trend Lab. This is to get the creative potential going by an experimental approach to trends and visitors’ active participation.

The playful didatical approach whets visitors' appetite encouraging them to join in using ideas like the “Shoemix” deck of cards, which produces entirely new ideas in only a few minutes. Surprising sources of inspiration for extraordinary textures can be found with the help of microscopic cameras. Also explicitly requested at the Trend Lab is the assessment and complementation of exhibited trend information and – the exchange of You-Tube video favourites in the so-called trend tubing.

These and other activities will be on all day long on the days of the trade fair. Both exhibitors and visitors are welcome to attend. Participation is free. The Sunday of the trade fair will see the "Sunday morning footwear creativity test" from 11.30 am to 12.00 noon where “Y Trend creative games” can be combined. The Trend Lab can be found at the Progress Lounge in Hall 4.

Nicoline van Enter excels at infotaining her visitors. At the same location she will also speak about young fashion footwear trends for the 2009 summer season and Autumn/Winter 2009/10. Her trend seminars will come under the headings "How to effectively Use Design to Expand your Business”, "The Sense and Nonsense of Eco Footwear" and "How to make a Sneaker Line for Winter and How to make a Sneaker Line for Women". For exact hours visit GDS-online.com. Mentioned in passing: for the sake of the environment Y-Trend publications and trendbooks will be available on USB memory sticks only for the first time.
