Keds – Classic, Stylish and Extremely Comfortable
In the USA, Keds are a synonym for sneakers, worn by all age groups and unimpressed by demographic classifications. Famous wearers include Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O. in the 50s and 60s, and nowadays the young actress and style icon Mischa Barton advertises the label.
In the USA, Keds have been around since 1916. They were developed there by the Rubber Company. Today, the silent walkers – thus the name “sneakers” – are available worldwide in ladies’, men’s and kids’ styles. In Germany, too, the cool Keds shoes collect more and more fans, who buy them in popular trend stores.
The 2008/09 Autumn/Winter collection for ladies focuses on prints and metallics. The classic Champion line and Hampton sports styles are available in linen and winterised leather looks. Stylistic elements include playful wedges and peep toes in various colours and patterns. Details are small bows, frayed seams and colour-coordinated soles. The ladies’ collection includes about 125 styles. Men can chose between about 20 styles, including Oxfords and slip-ons in many colours and designs. Quality is priority number one: non-slip rubber soles and cushioning inner soles provide for optimal comfort in all Keds styles.
