Fornarina celebrates femininity in its collection for Autumn/Winter 2008/09 and embarks upon a racy journey through past decades collecting stylistic inspirations from the 40s, 60s, 70s. These are used to develop styles which – well-behaved or sharp – are THE essential element for the total look.

Mary Poppins, Betty Boo, Manga comics, disco fever, femme fatale, pop, poetics and a touch of army chic send their regards here. Toecaps are rounded and heels are cone-shaped. The collection includes classic court shoes, peep-toe ballerinas with delicate heels and teeteringly high styles with spike heels and coated platform soles. Must haves of the season include ankle boots and lace-ups, boot legs with turn-ups or gathers and asymmetrical lacing. The design feeds on lovingly finished details: flowers, bows, flaps, intarsia, appliqués and droplet prints are all part of this sweet decorations. A more hard-rock, almost aggressive slant is taken by rivets, clasps, buckles, black patent and mirror effects. Sequins, metallics and multi-coloured accessories produce an exciting interplay of brilliance and colours.

Sporty shoes also shine thanks to metallised leathers, reflective surfaces and laminated sequins. Transparent sneakers or high-heel pumps in glazed canvas exude futurist glamour. Distinct stitching, laminated leather and guitar patches evoke hard-rock associations. All-over printed neons thrive on a gaudy charm while rubberised canvas is reminiscent of college days and cheerleaders. Rebel-type logos make ballerinas look everything but well-behaved. Styles with thin heels and laced details finally celebrate a reunion of sport and glamour.
