Helene Steensby

 


Feminine and comfortable – in 2005 Danish designer Helene Steensby fulfilled the dream of her own women’s shoe line. Since then, under the label of the same name, she has been creating models for "women over 25, who have had enough of painful feet after a night of dancing in high heels."

The heels are of moderate height, the styles support the foot and ensure utmost comfort during the whole day. In achieving this, stylistic compromises are not an option for Helene: the look is ultimately feminine, chic, fresh and attractive. Fluorescent colours underline the femininity. Helene Steensby: "A great many of the performing Danish artists, among them Anna David, a Danish singer who is also quite popular in Germany, are often seen wearing Helene Steensby shoes, because of their feminine look and intriguing designs, combined with great comfort."

There are two collections per year. A new feature is a small men’s series with classic forms, which are lent fashion highlights by fun-leather and furs, for example snake and pony.

The company is based in Copenhagen. The shoes have previously been exclusively manufactured in Spain. Additional production is planned at Norwegian facilities, which are specialized in winter boots, fur-processing and the changeable Nordic climate.
