Trade Fair Premiere for Diesel Kid Footwear

Cult for Kids – Last season GDS "newcomers" included Diesel footwear for men and women. Now March will see Diesel Kid Footwear follow with a separate stand in the Kidsworld section. Commenting on their reasons for attending the company said: "The trade fair offers a great platform for specialist shoe retailers here."

Diesel comes from Molvena in Italy and the label enjoys cult-status worldwide. The brand is considered a lifestyle icon in the prime segment of the casual market. The typical look, which also characterises the kids’ shoe line, is pert, fresh, witty, young and surprisingly new time and again. These shoes are available for boys and girls from sizes 21 to 39 and also come with a specially soft finish in tiny sizes for toddlers: First Steps in sizes 16 to 20.

 

The source of inspiration for the 2008/2009 Autumn/Winter collection was “expeditions“ for boys and “jewellery and treasures” for girls. The casual segment is covered by sneakers while the fashion segment includes neatly decorated ballerinas with rubber soles, hard-rock type biker boots, rugged unisex hiking boots and fur-trimmed snow boots, to name but a few.

The mix of leather, textiles and fun furs, elaborately finished details, bold, contrast topstitching and powerful colours make for a wide and varied range. The black & white colour scheme is pepped up with cool metallics. Lilac, cherry, orange and pink are the girls’ tones while boys strike a more subdued note with earthy tones, blue, grey and petrol.
