Exhibitor Testimonials

16/09/2007
Consorzio Maestri Calzaturieri del Brenta
Giuseppe Baiardo, Chairman,
Italy (Hall 9)

The mood prevailing in the industry is very positive. We have registered a perceivably increased demand for our products. At our joint stand we welcomed many international buyers, also from USA. GDS is very important, especially to customers from North and Central Europe – both as an order and an information platform.

Georg Schmidt, Sales Agent Germany,
Denmark (Hall 9)

We are first-time exhibitors at GDS and we like our location in the “white cubes” area very much. Thanks to the standardised, appealing stand design buyers can concentrate on the quality, colour and trends of the collections rather than on the prices. We are big fans of GDS and hope to collaborate here for several seasons.

Rolf Griesinger internationale Mode,
Germany (Hall 9)

In our opinion GDS is 70% an information platform with orders being placed later. We feel very well catered for in the “white cubes“ area. The atmosphere is really pleasant. The selection of visitors allows us to meet with the right expert buyers. We met some top buyers at our stand who are currently upgrading their accessories segment and have found just the right range to do so.

Joop!
Clemens Weihrauch, Product Manager,
Germany (Hall 9)

We are exhibiting in the GDS/GLS “white cubes” area for the first time now and are extremely surprised. The trade fair went extremely well for us – also in terms of orders which were above average. Trade visitors were very international. The visitors coming to our stand were above all Spanish and Italian buyers but we saw that everybody who is anybody in purchasing in Europe was also here. So passing trade produced an accordingly high number of new customers. To our minds the atmosphere, the presentation of the area and the environment is a particularly winning combination. We were allocated a stand right next to renowned exclusive brands helping us to do valuable benchmarking. Through participating at the Upper Style Show we had customers enquiring about selected styles.

Van Bommel
Reynier Van Bommel, General Manager,
the Netherlands (Hall 9)

The first day of the trade fair was very good, many key accounts called on our stand. The new “prime square” concept suits us perfectly and we are thrilled with the design. We filled our order books but find it more important to find new customers. And this worked fine here, too. For the next season we plan to enlarge the stand to 100 m².

Legero
Dr. Clemens Kellner, General Manager,
Austria (Hall 10)

GDS went very well for us. We are more than satisfied because Friday has now become an especially good day. To us GDS is of particular importance as an order platform and we will be back for the next fair.

Manas
Cleto Sagripanti, General Manager,
Italy (Hall 10)

As a key trade fair for special products GDS is also of paramount importance to us. All in all, we were happy with attendance at our stand for the duration of the fair.

Caiman Gabellini
Maurizio Gabellini, Owner,
Italy (Hall 10)

The market is on the way up again, retailers are regaining their confidence and craving for something new. Above all else, it was our regular customer base that found its way to Düsseldorf. For us most new customers came from the Netherlands. Our orders are definitely up this season. I find GDS essential since 80% of my customer comes from Germany. Prices are important but “Made in Italy” and quality are of increasing importance.

Nero Giardini
Irene Klöser, Sales Manager Germany,
Italy (Hall 10)

The mood in the industry has taken a turn for the better. Our collection is liked and well received. In addition to regular buyers we even opened new accounts from Japan and Eastern Europe. We are delighted with the increase in orders. The atmosphere in the halls and at the stands is relaxed.

L’Credi
Wolfgang Kalkoffen, General Manager,
Germany (Hall 11)

We are very happy with this year’s GDS and met with many new customers at our stand. Our location in Hall 1 is excellent. The hall boasts very good visitor attendance. We are just as pleased with the international nature of visitors registering buyers from CIS states and Canada. We received more orders than last year.

Think (Marko Schuhfabrik GmbH)
Manuela Schediwy, Marketing,
Austria (Hall 12)

GDS was fantastic for us. Many existing and potential customers called on our stand. And we were also more than pleased with their international spread. We had visitors from all over the world such as Australia, Japan, USA, Greece and Spain. For us GDS is both an order and information platform. We definitely be back.

Ben Sherman
Marco Kroner, Sales Manager Footwear,
Germany (Hall 13)

We are first-time exhibitors with a stand outside the Design Attack area and use GDS as a platform to showcase our shop-in-shop concept for presenting the Ben Sherman Lifestyle world. The talks we had so far and the response to our range have been very positive and the interest received is promising. We have definitely achieved our primary goal of boosting recognition levels for the brands. We got especially good feedback from the Benelux countries. We believe in the GDS platform and wouldn’t miss the next event for anything.

Keds / Sperry Top-Sider
(Stride Rite Deutschland Vertriebs GmbH)
Stephan Krug, Manager Europe,
Germany (Hall 13)

We very much like the general innovations. In particular, the Klauser presentation in its private marquee breathed new life into the fair. Our experience at GDS has once again confirmed that this is the only, true platform in the Central and Eastern European region. We use it for taking principal orders and for launching our off-season collections. The international response was satisfactory.

Levi’s (Action Sports GmbH)
Marc Schwarz, General Manager,
Germany (Hall 13)

This event has surpassed all our expectations. We are not only presenting Levi’s here but also 7 For All Mankind and U-Roads in the “white cubes” area and are delighted with the positive response across the board. The majority of our visitors came from abroad and we are also happy with the order taken. As a ‘local patriots’ we believe in this major international trade fair.

Gant, Landrover
Roy A.M. Goossens, Sales Manager,
the Netherlands (Hall 14)

We have managed to open many new accounts and were particularly pleased with the high quality of visitors. Buyers did not attend in the quantities we had hoped for but in the right quality and this is what really counts to us. For us the trade fair is an international information platform where we love to present our company.

Lacoste
Robert Stöckl, General Manager,
France (Hall 14)

We appreciate the open-mindedness of the trade fair and the willingness to develop the concept further, especially in the Young Fashion and Lifestyle segments. The quality of visitors was very satisfactory. We would like to see more retailers use this trade fair as an information platform.
